On the badge, currently, there is no way to add SSID and password for your wifi network.
The only, but not so tricky, way to get network on your badge again, is to connect it to your machine with a USB cable and use some terminal emulator tool to access it.
Connect to your badge
On Linux host
This way is already described here (USB interface): https://hacktivity.com/index.php/badge-howto/
On Windows host
- Connect your badge with mikro-usb cable.
- Windows most probably recognize the device as “Hacktivity Badge 2019”
- Start Device Manager
- Click Ports (COM & LTP)
- You should find USB Serial Device (COMX) (X=[4,5 etc])
- Double click on this device. (You can verify if you have selected the right device, check Details / Property / Bus reported device description should be “Hacktivity Badge 2019”)
- Click Port Settings, check if Bits per Second is 115200 and NOT 9600
- If you can’t change Bits per second value, most probably, you are not running the Device Manager as administrator. You should run C:\Windows\System32\devmgmt.msc as administrator. (right-click, Run as administrator)
- After you have corrected the speed settings start any terminal emulator, eg putty. Connection type: serial. COMX (Same COM port as you seen in the device manager) Don’t forget to modify the speed to 115200.
- Press Enter several times on your computer. If the terminal screen is still black, touch the Enter on the badge to wake it up.
- You should see either the “Hacktivity 2019 – Main menu” or the last line is:
